The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC)invites online applications from eligible unmarried Indian citizens for admission to the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (I), 2026.
This examination is conducted for selection of candidates into the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA and the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme of the Indian Naval Academy. Applications must be submitted online within the prescribed dates.

Wing-wise Vacancies:National Defence Academy (NDA): 370 posts(Army, Navy & Air Force Wings)Naval Academy (NA – 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme): 24 posts
The training for selected candidates will commence from 1st January 2027.The place of training will be at the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla (Pune) and Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala (Kerala). Candidates selected through this examination will be appointed as Commissioned Officers in the Indian Armed Forces after successful completion of training.
Educational Qualification:For Army Wing of NDA:12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent. For Navy and Air Force Wings of NDA & Naval Academy:12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates appearing in the 12th Class examination are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit:Candidates must be born between 01 July 2007 and 01 July 2010 (inclusive).
Marital Status:Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.
Selection Process:Selection will be done through: Written Examination conducted by UPSCSSB Interview Medical Examination Final selection will be based on merit.
Pay & Allowances:During training, candidates will receive a stipend of ₹56,100 per month as per Level 10 of the Pay Matrix. After commissioning, pay and allowances will be as per defence service rules.
