Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens (Male & Female) for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) as Medical Officer in the Armed Forces Medical Services for the year 2026. Selected candidates will serve in the Indian Armed Forces medical establishments across the country as per service requirements.

Category-wise Distribution:

• Male Candidates – 75 Posts

• Female Candidates – 25 Posts

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess:

• MBBS Degree from a recognized University/Institution.

• Must have completed Compulsory Rotating Internship on or before the prescribed date.

• Permanent registration from any State Medical Council / NMC / MCI.

• Candidates must have appeared in NEET PG 2025 (for shortlisting purpose).

Age Limit (as on 31 December 2026):

• MBBS Degree Holders: Not more than 30 years

• PG Degree/Diploma Holders: Not more than 35 years

(Age relaxation as per Government rules.)

Selection Process:

• Shortlisting based on NEET PG 2025 score

• Interview by a Board of Officers

• Medical Examination

• Final Merit List

Salary & Pay Scale:

Selected candidates will be commissioned in the rank of Captain (Army) / Lieutenant (Navy) / Flight Lieutenant (Air Force).

• Basic Pay: ₹61,300/- (Level 10B)

• Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500/-

• Plus DA, HRA, NPA and other admissible allowances

Approximate starting monthly package: ₹85,000 – ₹1,00,000+
